Instructors

Stephen Evans – Full Time LAPL Instructor and Ground Examiner

Stephen has been an executive of a number of companies over several years and has established Snowdonia Flight School Ltd based at Llanbedr Airfield. Stephen started flying in the late 1990s and has experience of several different aircraft type. Stephen has also instructed at Conington as part of the British Aerobatic Academy and at Henlow Flying Club.

Richard Jowitt – Part Time PPL & IRR Instructor

Richard has been flying for thirty six years, having trained with the Royal Air Force in the 1980s, he then worked as an instructor at Biggin Hill, before a career with the airlines including Dan Air, Jersey European Airways, Air France, and GB Airways. Richard has more than 12000 flying hours and has flown classic types such as the HS748, BAC One-Eleven, Boeing 737, and A320. Richard divides his time between light aircraft flying in North Wales and working as a consultant Airbus Training Captain in the southeast of England.

Ed Hollinshead – Part Time PPL, LAPL, Night & IRR Instructor and Examiner

Ed has been flying for 22 years. Having initially trained in the USA in the 1990s, he then worked as an instructor in Fort Lauderdale before several years instructing in North Wales . Prior to joining an airline in the Channel Islands, Ed had his own flying school operation at Llanbedr. He has more than 4500 flying hours and has flown a wide range of aircraft types. Ed now flies ATR’s and when time and company commitments allow he instructs and provides examination services for the flight school.

Aly Coyle – ATPL Qualified Pilot Undertaking Introductory Flights and Hour Building

Aly has been flying for 5 years, having trained with the Ulster Flying Club and Flight Training Europe in Spain. She is sponsored by Aer Lingus and has successfully passed all her ATPL exams with stunning results on her path to becoming an airline pilot.
Aly has more than 130 flying hours and has flown a wide range of aircraft types such as the Robin 400, Cessna 152 and 172, Grob 115 and PA28. She also does some aerobatic flying in a RV8.
